Wine and Walk in the Vineyards

Young winegrowers and cooks invite you to enjoy culinary titbits from Boppard's wine cellars and kitchens. On Sunday (April 29th, 2012) the popular "Mittelrheinische Weinfrühling" (Wine and Walk in the Vineyards) begins at 10 o'clock. The event is held in the famous "Bopparder Hamm" vineyards that are blessed with sunshine and that are located in the picturesque landscape on the largest bend of the Rhine River.

Join the walking excursions through the vineyards of the "Bopparder Hamm". Along the 5 km wine discovery trail, about 14 young wine growers will give you opportunity to stop for a wine tasting of the local wines, grown in the vineyards Mandelstein, Feuerlay and Ohlenberg. Not only will you have the chance to taste many excellent wines, but also to talk to the vintners and get a personal insight into winegrowing.

To make the event a culinary experience, the wine tasting is accompanied by local delicacies and specialities prepared by young local cooks. This famous event offers the best of culinary delights, renowned wines and spectacular views of the Rhine River. It is a must for everyone visiting the Romantic Rhine Holiday Region.

The entrance to the vineyards is at Peternach on the B9. Parking is possible in Boppard or in Spay. There is a free bus service from 10.00 am until 7.00 pm to take you to the entrance from both Boppard and Spay.
