Eifel National Park - Landscape of Woods and Water
|
The Eifel
National Park is 110 square kilometres of pure wilderness: majestic
beech forests, gnarled oak woods and secret ravines hiding tumbling
brooks. The National Park provides a protected habitat for the
particular variety of upland beech forest that thrives on acid soils
and a vital retreat for more than 230 endangered plant and animal
species.
Seventy percent of the Park are open to visitors. Giving access to
beautiful woodlands, open grasslands and wildlife. There is plenty
to see and do in the National Park. You may either explore the park
independently or take a guided tour that will show you around in the
ancient forest. The rangers of the park are happy to reveal some of
nature's secrets for the visitors.
The visitors' centre of the Eifel National Park in Gemünd offers a
variety of interesting activities and exhibitions. It also offers
exclusive tours for groups by arrangement. There is much awaiting
you: special lectures, guided tours and other special events. |
