UNESCO European Geopark - Volcanoes and Maars

The Vulkaneifel European Geopark is a protected region that preserves 400 million years of geological heritage of the Eifel. About 350 sites of volcanic eruption tell you the genesis of the Eifel region. Have you ever wondered how so many varieties of rock and shapes of mountains, hills and valleys came to be? Here you will find the answers.


Museums, guided tours and special facilities will explain to you the scientific phenomenon's. Unique cycle paths and footpaths will lead you to the treasures of this captivating landscape. A diverse program in particular for families and children is offered.
