A Paradise for Ramblers and Nature Lovers

Volcanos, maares, moors and lakes show the genesis of the Eifel. The rambler will be charmed by the diversity of this unusual landscape. One of the most tremendous water landscapes formed by the rivers Rur and Urft is waiting to be discovered. Large and small wonders of mother nature make this territory a ramblers paradise.

On well marked hiking trails the rambler can cross the varied low mountain range into all directions. The 16 main hiking trails are the basic framework of a 3,000 kilometres long network of hiking trails, that will lead to every corner of the Eifel region.

Discover and explore cooled down lava streams, romantic castles, insights into the century-old settlement history of the region, rocks, gorges, caves, valleys and cultural treasures like the legends of knights, robbers and counts. There is so much to do and explore. There is something for everyone, from short walks to demanding routes that require several days of walking.
