volcanic activity. 

Exploring the ancient geological formations on foot and cycle are very popular among many visitors. Because it is here where you will find majestic ancient forests, gently rolling hills, striking volcanic outcrops, maars (volcanic craters filled with water) and beautiful lakes. The Eifel has one National Park, two Wildlife Parks and one of the UNESCO European Geoparks. Every year they attract many vulcanologists, geologists, nature lovers and people who enjoy walking and cycling in pure nature.
