Bernkastel-Kues: For over a century, the "Bernkastel
Ring" has been holding great Riesling auctions here in the
"International town of vine and wine" of Bernkastel-Kues,
where the very best wines of the region come under the hammer. Enjoy
the unique atmosphere of this historic old wine town and its
surrounding areas, already captured beautifully on paper by the
English painter William Turner. [ more ]
Kröv: The legend of the well-known "Kröver Nacktarsch"
is depicted on many wine bottles: some children crept into the wine
cellar, and helped themselves to too much wine from the barrels. The
cellar-master punished them by tapping their bare behinds. The name
"Kröver Nacktarsch" (naked arse) originates from the
Celtic word, which means "rocky height". Kröv is a
popular wine and holiday destination with many established
horticulturalists and inviting wine bars. [ more ]
