Rheingau
Wine Festival, 11-20 August 2006: Winegrowers from Wiesbaden and
the Rheingau area will present their delicious products at about 115
wine counters. Local food will also be served and visitors can enjoy
a number of entertaining events.
Night of Churches, 1 September 2006: The Night of Churches is
an out-of-the-way event organized by Christian churches in
Wiesbaden. The churches open their gates to visitors, guided tours
will be available, people can climb up church towers, see works of
art, listen to concerts and discover things hidden behind church
walls.
Taunusstrasse Street Festival, 2-3 September 2006: People
living on the legendary "Antiquity Mile" and enthusiastic
members of the "Taunusstrasse Initiative" roll out the red
carpet and invite visitors to a stylish, 2-day street festival with
culinary pleasures, art and culture.
Christmas Market (Shooting Star Market), 28 November - 23
December 2006: Schlossplatz Square is a tremendous stage for
Wiesbaden's Sternschnuppenmarkt (Shooting Star Market). Visitors can
see arts and crafts, delicious winter and Christmas time food and an
many attractive events with choirs, nativity plays, brass bands
playing on church towers, concerts, fairytales etc.
International May Festival, 1-31 May 2007: Wiesbaden has been
a festival city since the year 1896. Every year all through May,
outstanding troupes stage operas, ballets and plays.
100 Years of Kurhaus Wiesbaden, 11-13 May 2007: Wiesbaden's
landmark celebrates its 100th anniversary with a series of
outstanding events. Concerts with artists and orchestras of world
renown, an "Imperial dinner" and a large exhibition are
some of the activities we can expect to see or listen to.
International Horse Show, 25-28 May 2007: Every Whitsun
weekend since 1929, international top performers in equestrian sport
have met in the park of Biebrich Castle. In addition to dressage and
show jumping and the competition for the "Prize of
Wiesbaden", the "Wiesbaden Horse Night" gala show in
the brightly illuminated tournament ground is a particular
attraction.
Theatrium, 8-9 June 2007: One of the oldest street festivals
on Wiesbaden's beautiful boulevard, Wilhelmstrasse, has lost nothing
of its attraction even after more than 25 years. A world of artists
and the theater to experience everywhere on site. A rendezvous of
fantasy, a treat to the eyes and ears, pure joy of life in an
outdoor setting.
International Oldtimer Rallye, in June 2007: For four days,
180 old-time cars will turn Wiesbaden, the Taunushöhen and the
Rheingau area in a rolling museum of precious engineering
achievement. Traditionally, the tour starts with a parade of all
cars in Wiesbaden's Schlossplatz.
Rheingau Music Festival, end of June to early September 2007:
The concerts with outstanding soloists and orchestras during the
19th Rheingau Music Festival will again attract massive audiences.
Some 120,000 lovers of music from far and near come to Wiesbaden and
the Rheingau every year to enjoy the concerts at over 40 sites, most
of them historic.
Schierstein Harbour Festival, 6-9 July 2007: The festival
around Schierstein Harbour - not only for water enthusiasts. With an
amusement park and a 500 meter long "Fressgass", counters
offering local food and drink and other delicacies on the harbour
promenade.
Rheingau Wine Festival, 10-19 August 2007: Winegrowers from
Wiesbaden and the Rheingau area will present their delicious
